IPALS (Immigrant Parents as Literacy Supporters)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until March 9, 2024
IPALS is a free program for immigrant parents (Permanent Residents, Granted Refugees, and Ukrainian Temporary Residents) and their children 3-5 years old. You will learn strategies to guide your children in developing literacy skills, and your children will engage in sessions such as story reading, learning how to read and write, early math, and more. You and your children will receive complimentary learning materials for free and enjoy a delicious lunch during the sessions.
We will offer the IPALS program in eight sessions from January to March 2024.
Session 1: I like the ABCs
Session 2: Signs around us
Session 3: Tell me a story
Session 4: Play is the way
Session 5: Learning to Write
Session 6: Math is all around us
Session 7: Riddles, Raps, and Rhymes
Session 8: Movement Play / Celebration
Date: On Saturdays, from January 20th to March 9th, 2024
Time: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, 800 East Broadway, Vancouver
