Ciara joined our volunteer team in November 2019, helping out with our Seniors’ Supper Club and special events, such as the Winter Wonderland.
However, Ciara has really begun to shine since she joined our COVID-19 response program, the Seniors Outreach Strategy.
As one of the first volunteers to join the project, Ciara has spent countless hours helping vulnerable seniors throughout this health crisis – making friendly phone calls, taking grocery orders, doing the shopping, delivering to the door, assisting seniors with new technology, and even driving one senior to an important doctor’s appointment and accompanying her safely back home.
Ciara has also helped the Seniors staff troubleshoot tricky situations, eagerly promotes our services, refers new volunteers to us, and has attended every training session and workshop available to her, in her efforts to be a prepared, informed volunteer.
She has yet to decline an opportunity to help someone! What a superstar volunteer – thank you Ciara!
